ABOUT THE ARTIST - Sara Sheets
I was born, raised and live in the Midwest. Before my retirement in 2004 I was an Art Educator for over
25 years. In my home studio I have
been creating art part-time over the past 30 years. During that time I have
painted interior and exterior murals and sold pastel paintings. My furniture
design business began in 2000, selling at juried art shows and privately.
The purpose for which I paint children's furniture is two-fold: I enjoy using
color and providing a unique keepsake for the child. I also enjoy the challenge of creating
a hand painted design to fit the piece of furniture, making the work one of a kind, because no
two pieces are exactly alike... and I wouldn't want them it to be!
I take great pride in being particular with color choices, neatness, and orginiality to create a wonderfully whimsical piece of furniture.
